My garage door spring snapped. Can I still open the door?
Do not run the opener. With a broken spring the opener is lifting the full weight of the door and can burn out or bend the top panel. Leave the door down, disconnect the opener only if you must get a car out and have help lifting, and call us. Spring replacement is one of the services we offer.
The opener runs but the door barely moves. What is wrong?
Usually the door is out of balance: a spring has lost tension, a cable has jumped its drum, or rollers are binding in the track. The opener is straining against that, and it will wear out if it keeps doing so. The balance gets checked by hand first, then the hardware, then the opener.
Do you work on the doors installed by Frisco home builders?
